After moving back from Quebec City in 2000, where Chastity started her career in the administration for the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission, she joined the Mi’gmawei Mawiomi Secretariat team in early 2001. In her 23-year career with the MMS, she’s held various positions with experience in senior management, financial management, governance, leadership, community relations and negotiations, leading to her recent role as Interim Executive Director.

She’s an instrumental part in carrying out the strategic work of the MMS while overseeing the implementation of the strategic objectives and direction provided by the Mi’gmawei Mawio’mi Leadership. While overseeing the operations of the MMS, Chastity supports the MM communities ‘priorities by advocating, advancing and protecting the rights of the L’nu while promoting the imbalances at the front.

Chastity is a proud Mi’gmaq from the community of Listuguj in the unceded territory of Gespe’gewa’gi. She’s soon to be married to her life partner and a proud mother of her 19-year-old son. She’s enrolled in the mini-MBA program with McGill to develop her skillset further.

Chastity enjoys snowshoeing, creating, travelling, exploring, and hiking during her time off. She loves the outdoors while juggling a work-life balance.
