Human Resource Planning

Most people would agree that putting people first is the single most important part of any organization.

The Operations Unit of MMS is responsible for seeing that all parts of the organization are fully staffed with appropriate, talented people. The staff take their work seriously and perform at a very high level on behalf of the members of our communities.

The Director of Operations has the overall responsibility for all MMS human resources activities, including:

CAPACITY AND RESOURCE PLANNING

  • Analyzing the overall capacity of MMS to complete its duties and making recommendations for additional capacity

  • Interacting with other MMS units to scope job descriptions, for vacant positions, and for postings

  • Ensuring that there is sufficient funding to pay for positions

  • Developing job descriptions and posting them internally within our community and externally, when requested

  • Preparing interview schedules and assisting Interview Committee

  • Making offers of employment and hiring new staff

STAFF SERVICES

  • Analyzing staff training needs

  • Implementing and drafting the Training and Development Plan

  •  Arranging for staff training and development as appropriate

WORK EXPERIENCE AND MENTORSHIP TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS

  • Placement of members in work experience programs, as needed, through criteria of LMDC

  • Collaborating about employability programs with LMDC and GCOC

Because we put people first and we provide them with the resources they need to do their jobs, Operations helps to ensure that MMS employees and community placement workers are productive and happy on the job!
